Rig agent

Records your iRacing laps and puts them on the boards as you drive. It runs quietly beside the sim: no browser, no manual uploads.

Setting it up

Two steps, and there is nothing to configure. The agent already knows where to send your laps.

1. Run the installer

Windows will warn that the publisher is unknown, because this build is not code-signed yet. Choose "More info", then "Run anyway". The agent installs for your account and starts itself when you sign in.
2. Sign in from the rig screen

The agent shows a 6-character code and a QR code. Scan it with your phone, or open https://laps.nw-simracing.com/device and type the code. Sign in, approve, and the agent connects itself within a few seconds.

That is the last time you sign in. Your PC stays connected and every lap you drive on it counts, with nothing to scan.

Setting up a rig at the shop?

Shop rigs skip the sign-in and pair with a staff code instead: create the rig on the dashboard, generate its pairing code, and type it into the agent's Settings window. That is what marks the machine as one of the shop's, so its laps count as shop laps.

What it does

Times every lap, with sectors, and puts valid ones on the leaderboards straight away.
Records the conditions each lap was set in, so times stay comparable.
Saves the telemetry behind each lap for the comparison viewer.
Shows who is signed in on the rig, and a small popup when you take a record or a personal best.
Films the good bits of a session, when you switch highlight clips on for your PC in your settings.

Want highlight clips?

They are recorded by iRacing itself, so iRacing's own video capture has to be on. In iRacing: Settings, then Interface, then Camera & Screen Capture, turn on Video and Screen Capture, then log out of the sim and back in. With it off nothing can be recorded, and the agent tells you so instead of trying.

At home and in the shop

It is the same app either way. A machine in the building is set to a shop rig by staff, which is what makes its laps count as shop laps. Anything paired from somewhere else stays a home rig, signs in once, and stays signed in: no timers, no automatic logouts.

Updates and removal

Updates install themselves when nobody is driving, so there is nothing to check. To remove it, open Windows Settings, go to Apps, and uninstall NWSim Agent.

Needs iRacing on the same PC. The agent reads the telemetry iRacing already publishes and sends laps to us. It never touches your iRacing account.
